WHAT'S BYRD'S NEST TRANSITIONAL HOME FOR WOMEN????

Byrd's Nest Transitional Home For Women offers women ages 21 and older a comprehensive, supportive home-like environment with the opportunity to regain self-confidence, self-esteem, and the skills that will allow them to communicate effectively with others in the workforce. Byrd's Nest Transitional Home For Women also works with The South Carolina Department of Probation and Parole to house recently released parolees in need of appropriate housing which offers support to women separated from family and reconnecting with their children and loved ones. Our passion for excellence has driven us from the beginning and continues to inspire as we're forward. Our team at Byrd's Nest II Transitional Home For Women knows that every person matters, and strives to make the entire transitional experience as easy and rewarding as possible.

MEET THE FOUNDER

Hello, I'm Beverly and I am the director and founder of Byrd's Nest II Transitional Home For Women. I received a Master's Degree in Human Service from Lincoln University in Pennsylvania and have worked, employed, and volunteered in the criminal justice and social service field for over 30yrs, then relocated to my birthplace, Mt.Pleasant S.C. in 1995. I then worked briefly with Vocational Rehabilitation as a counselor for Probation and Parole... Through the years, I've realized that there is a lack of adequate resources to allow women their ability to become self-sufficient in our society. At Byrd's Nest Transitional Home For Women, we strive to assist women and provide them with the resources necessary to achieve their personal and professional goals.
